I believe that to a certain level we are all constantly working on becoming a better version of ourselves. Our stories, struggles and goals are all different, but with self-determination and the appropriate help we can all be closer to resolving past/present matters and accomplishing the goals we set for ourselves.
Developing a trusting and empathic relationship with a client is crucial to effective therapy; and so, while working with evidence-based interventions and a multi-modal approach, I will tailor each person's treatment differently. During my graduate years, I interned at Boston Medical Center and graduated with a MA in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University. Later, in my years as an In-Home therapist working with clients with a history of complex trauma, I quickly understood the interchangeable relationship between individuals and their microsystems; family, community, school, ethnic identity, among others. I am bilingual in Spanish and English, and my therapy experience has covered a wide range of ages, cultural backgrounds, and clinical conditions. I look forward to starting the journey towards better mental health with you.
