Wendy Cabrera, LMHC

Ms. Cabrera has focused her career on the clinical study of human behavior. She has extensive experience as a clinician and in healthcare operations, with a proven track record in direct services and management. She has focused her efforts towards supervising and guiding therapists to utilize evidenced based clinical interventions with various presenting problems, including co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.

Ms. Cabrera is highly skilled at helping people regulate their emotions while implementing effective coping skills that will improve their overall quality of life. Her therapeutic style integrates various evidenced-based treatments. These treatments include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Person-Centered Therapy.

Ms. Cabrera is dedicated to helping individuals make positive shifts in their lives through a compassionate and empowering approach. She guides clients in making lasting changes through a focus on the present moment, an increased awareness of one’s emotional experience, and effective coping strategies.

Holding a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Ms. Cabrera has worked as a clinician, clinical supervisor and clinical director at different community mental health centers and substance abuse facilities. Ms. Cabrera earned her Master’s degree at Carlos Albizu University in Miami Florida, and her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
